We are still at sea. We received our disembarkation advice, a presentation by Dr. Judy on her year at Mawson, an old film on a tall ship rounding Cape Horn.
Later that day we came within 3 nautical miles of Cape Horn before turning 150° to starboard to approach the Beagle Channel later that night. Peter had fun outside in the roughest seas so far when heading for the cape, filming in 22m/s or about 44 knots wind speed whilst crashing into rough seas. Cold but fun...
That evening we celebrated our expedition during the captain's drinks.
It has been a wonderful voyage with a very nice small group of people.
The trips ashore were numerous and full of adventure.
The Penninsula is very different to the Casey area 180° longitude away on the other side of Antarctica.
Mountains, wonderful bays, whales, different birds and seals.
The ship's Russian crew, the Philippino bar staff and all the Aurora staff were very professional, infomative, friendly and very helpful.
We had a wonderful trip: 10/10.
In the morning we arrive back in Ushuaia.
